Hi everyone. Have been silent as it's been a long, slow process of trying to clean up around here. I've pretty mcuh gotten the mold beaten into submission, the carpets are out and most of the stuff that needs to be is packed away in LARGE Rubber Maid containers (only 1 book shelf & 1 computer room to go). Schools reopened last Monday, so I returned to work. Oh the joy of it all when I come home each day at luch to find that Beau has decided to mark his territory, IN MY HOUSE (or what's LEFT of it)! Now he was doing this when we first came home after this last hurricane and I figured it would "pass". Never CAUGHT him mind you, but when I'd find the spots, he'd see me and very quietly walk the other way. Thought it was over and done by last weekend. Seems *once again) I was wrong. To top it all off, it seems the boy has a "rubber festish"! He hits at LEAST 3 of those storage bins (which are sitting in the living room and dining room until we purchase the new shed) between 6:15 in the morning and noon, when I get home for lunch. I mean, what IS he thinking, "OK, mom & dad are at work, so let me make sure to keep the wolves at bay and keep our home safe while they're gone"???? but only in the mornings? Do wolves only prowl and attack defenseless homes between the hours of 6 am and noon? Nary a drop from lunch until I get home at 3. Nothing when we're home, nothing if we're gone for hours on end running errands... Just Monday through Friday from 6:15 to 12:00! And before you ask, he gets outside time for about an hour every morning before I go to work. I haven't gotten too excited, as both dogs have been through SOOOO much, hurricanes, shelters and I can't find their food as the only local pet store to carry it blew away! Between the mold, the bleach and Beau's pee..it smells lovely in here. Just thought I'd share my fun times with all~ Sing me, wary, roofless, moldy and fast on the draaw with the bleach and peroxide squirt bottles!
pyrmom: the last time you came on I gave you some info on mold and tea tree oil and just wondering if you got it because you haven't been on in a while. here is the link again: http://www.care2.com/channels/solutions/home/1499 I am glad that you are making some progress over there. Do you still have the unwanted skylights? It sounds like your pup is having some sort of anxiety over the whole experience i would be too. lol
Well, I'm sorry you are going through all of that. But it's good to hear you are safe. Hmmm, Wolves between 6am and noon???? You're in Florida, maybe he's protecting you from gators. LOL I have no idea. Good luck and hope all goes well. Keep us posted. Have a good day! aisha, I somehow overlooked or missed the link before. Thanks for re-sending. I'll give it a short and let you know if it works. On Beau's sneeky peeing, well...if Jr. doesn't watch it, he's gonna' find a bow tied around that thing of his! Nothing so far since early Friday, but we'll see when I go to work tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm trying to buy the Natural Balance on line as the only local pet store to carry it is gone with the wind. We've got all the carpeting out of the bedrooms, I've used a combination of bleach and peroxide on te walls and ceilings for the mold (SEEMS to be doing the trick) and we should have the repairs begun within the next 2 weeks (pending arrival of fundage from the Ins. Co.). Once we get the tree off the fence and out of the yard, we can put the new fencing up across the back and get the dog run up (with 2 small trees left for Beau to use for target practice). Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find that Beau has been trying to ward of a few gators with all the flooding and canals over flowing and woods being ripped away by the winds if not uprooted. Guess there are plenty of gators out there looking for a new home!
funny, noticed you were on and was gong to bump the post and ask how it was going. I think i have more links but here is some info: In a spray bottle mix 2 tblsp of t.t oil and water and spray everywhere you smell mold may have to up the t.t. oil if bad. but goggle t.t.oil and there is a lot of info.
