O.K. so mabey I am the only weirdo who has goats for pets. But really they are COOL! I have three Pygmy goats, and I have a blast with them. I bought the mother Gretchen about 1 1/2 years ago, and she gave birth two twins, who I named Abby and Cabarito. They were 2 pounds and 3 pounds when they were born. I raised them up like puppies, I take them for walks like you would your dog and it is so funny to watch people do double takes and run off the road in their cars trying to look at my pets! I have never met any animals that are funnier than goats, every thing they do cracks me up! I might be weird but I think that goats rock!
Oooh, my friend has 3 goats. 2 Nubian, 1 Alpine. I love them to death! My friends & I walk one up & down the street with Allie, acting like it's perfectly normal to be walking a Chihuahua and a goat. ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
Yeah, most big cities don't allow any type of livestock. But hey get a Pygmy goat and hide it in the house, they aren't any bigger than a medium size dog, mine weigh 30 pounds, some folks have dogs out there a lot bigger than that! Oh, well mabey you'll live some where that allows goats one of these days. As for the male goat pee thing, this is only a problem if you don't have them casterated. I casterated my male at about a month old myself. Hey, before you think this is cruel, let me mention that I used a method called rubber banding, and it is a common and safe way to casterate livestock when they are young. So now my boy is odor free! Goats are so much fun! They can do the most amazing jumps, flips, and acrobatics! It's like a live circus every day!
goats are very cute, however im a little scared of them. i have had very few good experiences with goats. anytime i've went to the petting zoo's they've chased me, and one time one even started eating my shirt. maybe if i found one that didn't think i was a snack, i'd consider!
