Anyone else have these? It's out of control here in MN. 100's in my windows and I vacuum and they just keep coming! It's like a horror movie there are so many and they bite. I remember when it used to be rare when you saw a ladybug and I thought they were cute. I guess they are Asian beetles not ladybugs. I don't remember ladybugs biting.
im guessing their Asian beetles, i've never known a lady bug to bite. thats gross having so many, im really not a bug person, especially if they bite. however i do like lady bugs (as long as their not on me)
I live in Maine, and I guess that we are in a ladybug migration area or something like that. So when that's happening they're all over the mudroom windows, in the house eww. This summer we had like Attack of the Tiny June Bugs (that was what they looked like, probably some kind of beetle). Disgusting!
are the ladybugs an orange(y) colour? we had a million of those a couple of years ago so i guess they all went there. Watch your clothes because they stain them. They are a different kind of ladybug not your childhood kind. lol
We have those too Jeanie!!!! They swarmed Dekalb last year towards the end of the semester. Everyone would get to class and we'd be brushing each other off because they were in our hair, clothes, backpacks. Plus, they stink if you step on them. We have a big circular window in my apartment complex's stairwell and it was completely covered in these things. Yuck! Where are you from Jeanie? Close to Dekalb (IL)? **kris, abby, ace & summer
We have them in Wisconsin too...they aren't a ladybug though they look like one. They are a Asian Beetle and are horrible and I had two of them fall or land on my face last night while sleeping.....Remember to keep your mouth shut while sleeping.....lol...yuck!!!!
I'm from Farmington, MN. They do stink! I have to call pest control or I'll have them all winter. I heard they brought them into the US to get rid of another bug that they eat or something. If thats true I think something went haywire.
Jeanie you not alone. I am from NW Iowa . They are EVERYWHERE!! they were brought in to eat/ kill some kind of mite in the crops . now that the farmers are harvesting they are coming out of the crops and invading us!!!LOL It was such a beautiful day yesterday . BUT the Asian beetles made it horrible. we were all flopping around trying to get them off. Last night my son wouldn't even go to bed til we vaccuumed his room. He said he was gonna have nightmares from them. We need a good freeze to get rid of them. Jubilee
I have them too. They swarm all over the place...sometimes worse than mosquitoes during a muggy evening! My step-dad told me that a few years ago farmers released the Asian beetles to protect their crops, or something along those lines. My mom told me that they get so out of control because they have no natural enemies...except us.
we also have those in illinois.whenever the farmers started harvesting the beans around here they were unleashed by the thousands.the only thing ive found to kill 'em is a product by ortho called home defense but even it takes some time to take effect and it doesnt last very long.i suggest the brilliant minds who imported them should be responsible for exporting them.asap.
I understand how you all feel. We just got the bugs here in Kansas and they are awful. The swarm by numbers and my boyfriends house just got infected...indoors. If anyone has any suggestions on how to kill them, ple3ase please let me know:)
They are in Pittsburgh too. On Sunday, my fiance and I moved his mother and her boyfriend into a new house in a more suburban area, and they were all over her windows and siding and everything!! I didn't know they bite though!
They are in Michigan too. Real bad they are all over the sides of my house and in my windows and as soon as you open the door they fly in. I bombed my house like 2 days ago so they are ot as bad as they were but I will have to bomb again this weekend because I am sure they will be back.
Ohio here and they are EVERYWHERE....I left my car window open the other day at my moms and my van was full of them! My son was freaking out. They do bite and it you smash them they do stink!!!! I hate them! When I opened the van door, I bet 50 of them fell on my head out of the top of the door jam....I really wasn't in the mood and had a hissy fit! Neighbors probably thought I was looney!
