Every weekend I try to take my dogs for a hike or a walk in town, or I take one with me to Petco' Does anyone else take their dogs out in pubic and where do you take them? I love to talk with people who stop me to ask questions or share their dog stories with me. My hubby brings his' Gracie with him plowing in the winter or everytime he has to run to McDonalds. The girl at the window gives her a fri or a nugget. She will get the keys off the counter if the hubby ask's her if she wants to go bye bye'. He also has her trained to get his slippers one by one.
oh thats soo cute. Nala was just in Vermont with me and my family. We went to Manchester to do some shopping and when we went to Ben & Jerreys ice cream place the lady gave nala a free cup of vanillia ice cream.
Layla goes everywhere dogs are allowed with me. One time I got kicked out of Kohl's, a clothing store. I had to pick up my kids who were supposed to be outside, but weren't. I didn't want to leave her in the car cuz it was very hot, so I carried her into the store. She was very good, didn't make a peep, but the store clerk asked me to leave because somebody complained. It was embarrassing. So to all you pit bull owners out there, I had someone scared of my l0 lb Shih tzu. Go figure. Now I know how you feel.
Ace and Summer go walking everyday. Since I live on a campus there are people walking to class everywhere and I'd say 1/5 people stop to pet them. When it was really hot we would sneak them into a building and let them drink out of the water fountain. We try and take them to PetCo about once a week. When I pick up their flea/tick meds at the vet I bring them there, too. My dad brings Abby everywhere! As soon as she hears his keys jingle she runs to the door and won't let him by without her. He's got a van and he picks my mom up everyday from the train and she (my mom) has to sit in the backseat because Abby won't move from the front. If they make her get in back and my mom were to sit in the front, Abby would sit on my mom's lap. lol. He goes to this fast food place, Portillos, alot. And you order at the window. He always orders his food and then looks at Abby and asks her what she wants. Then he'll tell the person at the window Abby's order and then tell them to hang on as he asks her what she'd like on her hamburger (always plain). They've got to think he's a nut!!!!! **kris, abby, ace & summer Ace: http://www.dogster.com/?41494 Abby: http://www.dogster.com/?50370 Summer: http://www.dogster.com/?7041
LoL...Lalayla. 'I'm thinking about putting a shirt/coat on my pups, that says somthing to the effect that they are in training for the CGC. Just like guide dogs have. I think its sad that they wont allow dogs in some places, unless they are guide dogs. I understand if you were at a restaurant, but if people are allowed then I think dogs should be too.
I take Oscar with me whenever I can. We go walking just about every night and since I live near a huge playground there is always kids running up to him. We go to Petco once every two weeks and he goes to the bank with me when I go put my checks in. The bank people love him, he always gets tons of milkbones. At McDonalds they give him free cheeseburgers with no onions, pickles, mustard, or ketchup. He loves going to Sonic too. I heard that you can take dogs in Lowes but they might get a shock if I come in with a 150 pound horse.
I have had my two Boston Pups with me 3 weeks now and I have took them every where with me. I bought a dog carrier that kind of looks like a purse so I can smuggle them into the stores with me. I took them to Wal-Mart today, Olive just slept the whole time, but Popeye, dosn't really like the whole shopping thing! He wants to be held not ride in the bag, so he barked all up and down the eisles, thought he would blow our cover but no one said any thing. I don't see what the big deal is I hear kids in there screaming at the top of their lungs all the time, dogs can't be any more disturbing than that!
I don't take mine out near enough. It shows in their attitude. I pay for a dog class, just so I can make myself go out w/ a dog once a week for sure. We go to Petco after. I work at night, sleep during the day. My free time is after 11pm. I used to take the dog to the park at night but the police said no...My neighborhood is not too safe at night. Still trying to work something out.
We often have dinner at this neighbourhood with a lot of trendy restaurants and shops near our condo and Winnie will sit under the table with her bowl of water. Dogs are not allowed in air-conditioned buildings here, but we can sit al fresco with her, that is fine. Singapore is a very built up city but we do have nature parks and we'll take her there on Sundays. She loves it!
I take Kai everywhere they will allow dogs. He little and only weighs 9 pounds. He rides in the cart at PetsMart. He refuses to walk. He also likes to be "up" where he can see everything and everyone. I got a pet carrier that looks like a luggage bag with mesh ends at Petco. I used it to sneak Kai into WVU to visit my son last weekend.
I take mine all over town. They of coure go to petsmart with me, they also go to work with me. I take them to the school to pick up the kids, to the park, to the bank (drive-up only) and they get treats, we visit the neighbor kids weekly (18 mos. and 2.5 y/o) I have also taken them to the bar. LOL.
Bella goes everywhere she can with us. I don't drive, so normally if hubby is taking me somewhere like a dr. appt...Bella comes and walks with "Daddy" while I'm in. She loves walks through the neighborhood and has made many new friends. She goes to work with hubby occaisionally. We try to keep her out and around people and other dogs as much as possible. My husband and I just bought a house with a fenced in yard. I have many friends that have dogs in apartments, so they love to come over for play dates with Bella.
