Hi, I have a 11 week old Boston and he's SATAN! lol I believe I've gotten ahold of the Alpha Male. He always bites and chews hands, feet and when he's near your face he nips noses and chins. He's really spastic when you pick him up VERY EXCITEABLE ~ always licky licky ! the licky part I don't mind hehehe. He also eats like he hasn't eatten in weeks! I feed him in stages each meal time( ie. little it here little there) cause he doesn't chew his food he vaccummes it up. Is that normal ? About 2 weeks ago he had tape worm but has scence been cured. Please tell me how I can help correct his behavior in all instances. My other dog was never this crazy !! hehe
That's a Boston for ya. I love 'em, but I don't know why they are called "America's Gentlemen," lol. When he snarls & stuff, grab him, turn him over COMPLETELY on his back, and say "I don't think so!!!" until he goes limp in your arms. On the back equals submissiveness. If he won't hold still, graqb his scruff & say, "I don't think so!" Good luck! ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
I just got two Boston pups my self, and boy are they a handful!! Let's just say they have that Bulldog attitude thing down pat! They are the rowdiest pups I have ever owned, and boy do they have tempers! So I guess you are not the only one with a wild child around here!!! You can see my Bostons at: Popeye: http://www.dogster.com/?79011 Olive Oyl: http://www.dogster.com/?78928 P.S.- got any pictures of your baby yet????
One thing I was told to stop a dog from inhaling food was to put a fairly large rock (or something similar) in the middle of the bowl. They have to eat around the rock, and it helps to slow down their intake. We told my sister to try this with her dog and she says it now take her twice as long to eat her food. (From 5 seconds to 10 seconds) Oh well, you can't expect a miracle from a rock! Boston B; your puppies are adorable! LTLGTO
AWWW Sounds like someone is very happy to be home! Was he the runt maybe he had to fight for food. Did you pick him from the litter? Was he being bitten on by his littermates? The nipping hurts I am sure. Pups have sharp teeth like babies have sharp nails! Those things HURT!
As promised !! here'd the link to my Rowdy baby I can't wait to add more and more pics. Thanks for the rock idea !!!! I'll do that when I get home !! http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=79332&n=2632&p=28179
