I am new to this forum and I have a question? 1) If someone buys an AKC dog Limited with stipulations (Show Only) Can they still Show or does it need to be Unlimited? 2) If an AKC dog was bought as Unlimited, can the breeder come back after a year or more and call AKC and have it changed to Limited? Thanks, Jazzie (Jasmine)

Welcome to the forum! 1) If someone buys an AKC dog Limited with stipulations (Show Only) Can they still Show or does it need to be Unlimited? No, the dog would not be eligible since the designation to the AKC of "limited" basically means that your dog will be spayed or neutered and it's puppies would not be eligible for registration. You could show your dog in any of the performance events though with a limited registration, ie. obedience, agility. 2) If an AKC dog was bought as Unlimited, can the breeder come back after a year or more and call AKC and have it changed to Limited? I do not believe short of a court order that the conditons of the sale/contract could be changed after the fact. Like failure to live up to buyers side of contract. The original purchase/contract is binding.
Jazzy, I called AKC today and they told me that once you have your Unlimited License that it stays that. However, if you do have a limited one, it can be changed to unlimited and once it has been changed NO person can change it back. They also said that even if you keep selling the same dog, it will always stay unlimited. I hope this adds to everyone else. pavack69 http://www.pavackpupsdesigns.com
