You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I teach sunday school 5-8 year olds on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings and the children always say special prayers rather it be for someone they know or for someone who's story they heard on the news. I will be sure to add you to our prayer list. We even have animals on our prayer list from time to time. ---------------------------------------------------------------- THE FIVE FINGER PRAYER 1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty." 2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers. 3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance. 4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them. 5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all. Which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively
Bassetmom: I hope all goes well. It is a scary and tough situation for all. I hope he pulls out of it soon. I will also keep him in my prayers and tell his wife and daughter to stay strong. GinaH; That was so nice! Great way to remember all.
Bassetmom, I am so sorry. He as well as you and the whole family are in my prayers too. I know it may take some time before you can post again, but please come back and let us know. And be careful on your way, I know you'll be in a hurry.
Thanks again everybody for your prayers. He is doing a little better. They said that he is lucky to be alive and that he will prob walk again. He is awake now just off an on. They are suppose to take him off the vent this evening if his vitals stay up. They finally got the bleeding to stop after 3 surgeries. They told us he will be in the hospital at least another month or so. I think all the prayers is what saved him and that god knew that it was not his time. Thanks again so much for everything.
