Last year my neighbors collie jumped the fence and attacked my apbt while he was on a chain The neighbor shot my dog with bird shot in the leg and also hit him with the gun which bruised him.My dog Bruno had to stay 2 nights at the vet and I called the police. This guy got tickets for leash laws, trespassing, Animal cruelty and a few others. He now hates me so much as if it were my fault he acted so irrationaly. He calls Animal Control and Humane Society all the time making up lies and they always come, they say they have to.Well his latest complaint for the 5th time is my apbt's hip which he has been checked by 3 vets. It is out of place due to some calcium thing and all they can do is give him calcium vitamins. I show the paperwork every time and they still bug me over this hip when I have done everything to help it.All 3 vets also said he should be in NO pain due to this and one of the Animal Control officers said he is suffering and shoul be pts but all 3 vets said not at all. WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT THE NEIGHBOR AND THE ANIMAL CONTROL HARASSING ME?
Yes I have all the paperwork I even have the victims crime paperwork where he had to pay all the vet bills. The main thing is they wont tell who called so I have no proof he is calling even though I know. He even comes outside while they are there and smiles with this evil face like haha. He does other things like mow his grass with a bag on his mower then dump it over on my side of the fence so i called the police and they made him clean it up. I have just had enough of this back and forth calling this person on me so I call that person on him kinda stuff.
Since you already know who is doing the calling (even if you can't prove it), you don't really need the officers to tell you. I would show the officers the old paperwork anyway because they will know who called. Doing so may not help but can't hurt.
I would also talk to a cop or a lawyer (or both) about your trouble with this neighbor so that you can find out what actions you should be taking. This guy is obviously unstable, so getting rid of the animal police isn't going to solve the whole problem. It sounds like he is going to keep coming after you in one way or another. I wish you the best of luck in resolving the situation.
Go to the police. Not 911. Go in nice clothes on a business day during early hours. Ask for a watch commander, or better. Go above the street beat guys, into the P.R. folk. AND go to the city hall and check there for support. Don't take that crap. And KEEP your yard clean! Spray it with bleach for the smell. Doo-doo patrol 3X a day (paper inside plastic from grocery store...roll down paper, tie up plastic, in trash can...no smell)
Yeah I have to watch everything I do and do poop control and evrything else under the sun because he calls the township and all these ordinance people and makes crap up. Thanks everyone for the advice I will try anything.lol @ move out that is funny because his house is up for sale so hopefully someone will buy it SOON. Thanks again *edited to say: I have to keep a close eye on my yard as it is because i found meat with rat poisin pellets in it in my yard and I know that was him too because he threatened to poisen all of my dogs. But once again the police let me down they said since i didnt see him do it they cant do anything
Do you have a video camera? I would seriously consider setting one up to monitor your yard (especially if you suspect he's trying to harm or poison your dog!!). If you could catch him on video harassing your dog or dumping anything questionable into your yard that would be proof positive that he was the one doing it....the police CAN'T ignore that. I wish you luck.
Thank you so much for the advice. As a matter of fact I do have a camera that I could set up in the security lights outside. I think I will look into another one that has infa red so i can see at night time too. Thanks so much
OMG...............We have the same neighbor. Mine is constantly calling AC on me. It is always something different though. First was because Duncan did'nt have water outside. Well he did, it just wan't where the neighbor could see it. I keep it in the back of the pen under awning and out of sight. This way I dont have to worry about him poisoning the water bowls unless he is dumb enough to come in the pen to do it. Second time was because Duncan didn't have tags. They got there to find he DID have tags but the pregnant stray I had at the time did not have tags and was unable to get vaccinated due to pregnancy, I got a ticket issued anyway and fought it in court and won. Next was because of the barking. Yes, Duncan barks but only when normal dogs would bark, such as a rabbit hopping thru the yard. Well, the neighbor doesnt like to mow and it is a breeding ground for a lot of animals which makes him bark. There was nothing AC could do about the barking unless the neighbor could produce dates and times and be 100% possitive it was in fact my dog doing the barking and then he would also need witnesses. He ended up getting a citation for his lawn being over 10 inches long. 10 inches, can you imagine? He has continued to harrass myself and my dogs but I refuse to move. He does not own his house but there is a "for sale" sign out front so I am hoping that it will sell and the new owners will boot him out. Although I will miss his dog Petie.
My neighbors well, some of them hate my pit mix too. Take it to the police, and get the evts to talk to the animal control right away. It's not THEIR choice for him to get pts. Posion pellets? Keep your dog in the yar donly when he's supervised!
Man, what is wrong with these people. Definately get a video camera, even if you have to borrow one because you need to have some evidence on your side. I'm glad your house is up for sale, but I would be really really careful in the mean time. Have a good day! I think this guy has way more problems than just your dogs, but your dogs are an easy target. Document everything that happens, for sure, and let the police know that the problem is ongoing. Someone mentioned a video camera-- a very good idea. Wow, scary sounding neighbor!
I am hoping he moves soon because yes he seems to have many problems and likes to vent them on me. Maybe he thinks if he directs all tha negative attention to my house nobody will notice what goes on at his. Also the funny thing is he never started acting like this and letting his dog run loose till his wife left him.(lol) Another thingis I think the restraining order is a good idea because he never approaches me when my boyfriend is home but when my boyfriend is gone he yells over the fence at me.
