You know, I do find this a little offensive, and I'm sure I'll get it for this. I posted the post about my husband being alcoholic but it was dog related. My original question was about getting Lady even though he didn't really want one. Yes it came out later that he is an alcoholic. Sorry if you didn't want to read that, but you know what, I got a lot of great advice. If it offended you so much, why did you read it? As far as I'm concerned the original post was about a dog, and more so than all the d*mn arguing and name calling that is going on around here lately. I don't find it amusing and honestly I'm getting sick of it. Or am I not allowed to have an opinion either? Allie, good for you, I'm glad you go to Alanon. You are truly a remarkable person. I think that an off topic area would be a great idea, but I am trying to point out that posts that often start out pet related don't end that way. Look at mpp's post about her own dog and it ended up with nothing but arguing and she wasn't even on there all day.
I didn't pull any "I am going to leave stunt" I meant it. I felt unwanted by you rude ones. After seeing that some others were serious and were nice, I changed my mind. You can't compare me to what others have done. I am nothing like anyone on here. I think way different and I don't say half of what I feel or think for fear of being taken the wrong way and getting bashed half to death. I don't need anyones sympathy. And if that is how you took it then you are closed minded. There was a certain group who ignored some new people and I wasn't the only one feeling it. It almost seems to be the same group who mysteriously showed up out of the blue and started harassing people in the last two days. If I misunderstood their humor or sarcasm it is because I don't know them and their words seemed harsh. Sorry, that is how I see it.
I hate arguing. I hate it. I hate it at home, in the work place, among families and here! I always try to stay nuetral. But, hey, I am guilty of talking to everyone about non pet related things. I am bored. I am home all day with two things to talk to...my dogs and the walls. So I guess I am really guilty. I will say sorry if that helps. I will apologize to Boxer Babe if that helps. Whatever. Edit....going to bed....should have just done that an hour ago. Night all.
Yeah Scout, I understand that a thread can start about dog wash and then end up being about pineapple ice-cream. But a thread started about "off topics" such as "Guess what my husband said to me" is not about pets....and generally won't turn to talk about pets. I don't want to know about so once I find out what it's about, I stop reading it -- but unfortunately some days I can be on here and majority of people are responding to someone's sob story and not to legitimate questions - which is the reason why I come here. Who used to talk about these subjects back at the beginning of the year? No one...but we all had a bloody good laugh and told a heap of good stories in the Chat Room.
Well, I think that good news should be allowed (ex. My hubby got promoted), and bad news cut to the point, or not even posted. I think there should be a pet & non-pet forum. I think that games should be set to pet relations. I like hearing good news about anything, and I love to answer questions, but this bad news stuff has gotta stop. ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
There Min goes again.. jumping in and taking sides without reading or even acknowledging the full extent of the problem. Min: Here again which I don't understand because you have contributed to the "off topic" threads and so did the ADMIN. The ADMIN contributed to the AGE thread (several times in fact) I mean really.... You know .. there is too much time spent on administrative issues. Alright Already.... some of you people are upset ALL THE TIME. If you don't like it why do you keep coming in here....
Gina, I don't know what you are talking about. Must have missed that post. Talking about AA just came out of the blue when I was searching for a counselling session. It wasn't related to you at all (it couldn't be -- I don't think I saw/don't remember your post you are talking about). And I am not belittling anyone for having problems -- there's just a time and a place.
BoxerBabe, a few weeks back I was wanting to adopt a greyhound....oh, let me just bump the post, if you'll scan through it I am SURE you will understand why I thought you were referring to me. If you really weren't it's pretty darned funny then. :) BTW: I did get the dog see below. Have a good day! I will first say I havent bothered to read this. I have conditioned myself to avoid the topics that don't interest me and simply respond to what is important to me. It would be beneficial to everyone if the poster at least have the courtesy, as I have seen other do, put "non pet related" or "off topic". Just a suggestion, I have given up trying to be warm and fuzzy. I do feel however that it is beneficial to have people here so frequently to answer a timely question. If off topic discussion keeps them here, it could be useful. A separate section of the forum would be great for this. Sorry if I repeated what someone else said, I didnt want to read argueing.
I agree with Boxer Babe to a point. I mean, I don't mind when people talk about wanting another dog but their significant other won't allow it and stuff like that, it is stil dog related, after all. But when people start asking things like 'Am i lame'...that needs to stop. I really have no room to talk, since I answered questions about my age, etc. But I agree that we should try and keep it pet related. When these off topic things pop up it pushes down all of the other posts.
And is this thread pet related? Everyone is always complaining in here WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Life doesn't always work the way you want it to. I am sure we all will survive!
You hit the nail on the board, there, Ace! Perfect explanation. The "Am I Lame" board was so, well... Lame.... that I didn't even post on it! And when I have over 2,800 posts, I have posted on just about every board since I joined. MLS: LOL, you got a point. ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
That's okay Gina. I thought you must have been mistaken. I was thinking "WHAT????" I do remember someone getting a greyhound but nothing about AA. Is your greyhound fast? I have a Dalmatian and everyone says I should put him in races because he is soooooo fast....I would love to compare him. ADMIN, want to know the answer to this? You need a separate section of the forum for chit-chat -- in the same format as this becuase no one seems to like the chat area....this has been mentioned a good half dozen times since I joined in March or whenever! One day, one day.
The problem with TP is that there is only ONE place to post anything! If they were to get on the ball and "update" like they have been saying for months now this would not be an issuse. It's hard to sort threw all the BS and it seems there is more BS latly than anything. It's all the same handful of people posting the BS. TP really needs to just update and stop talking about. They can talk the talk but odviously they can't walk the walk. It has only been proven.
