Hi, i just recently got a min pin about 6 weeks ago. I got her at 8 weeks of age from a breeder. My girl acts the same way. Roxy is a Black and Rust color (Doberman/ Rottweiler ) colors. What color is yours and what is the gender and what is its name. I would love to hear and answer any questions you have. We can go through this min pin puppy thing together. lol. Good Luck. http://www.dogster.com/?67499 go there to check roxy out.
Thanks for your encouragement. Our little one is Georgie and we love her a lot although she is definitely frustrating us. She is a little girl with black and rust coloring. She looks an awful lot like yours and I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how. She is a lot of fun and quite amazing but is not as easily trainable as the little mutt I had when I was a teenager. I could walk that dog without a leash. I think there is a lot more I can teach this dog because you can see her intelligence and her athletic ability so I will take her to puppy classes and see how that works. I just had to put her in her crate to settle her down. I had one of my workers come to the back with her two grandchildren and her sister and dad. She was real sweet with the kids but still a little excited. When I picked her up to let them leave without her following she wiggled so hard to get away and when that didn't work she nipped a couple of times at me. That is what I do not like so I put her in her crate to settle down. I know you shouldn't put them in the crate to punish them but she needs to settle down and I can't let her think she can get her way by nipping me. She will be real sweet after settling down in there. She just gets too excited. I am sure there will always be a bit of that because of her breed but once she gets a little older it should not be as pronounced. In the meantime, I need help getting her to listen to me so I will get professional help as soon as she is done with her shots. Have you tried puppy classes?? I am hoping they know how to settle her down and will talk with a couple of places to see if they have experience with min pins or a similar excitable breed. She has so much potential, it is just going to take some work to get it out of her. Thanks and good luck with your puppy also and thanks for the opportunity to share.
Lol. Yea i have done puppy classes for my Aussie that i have. Were thinking about doing it for Roxy. Its good for the dogs to meet other dogs. They teach you basic stuff like sit, sit and stay, down, walk in a figure 8, just walking, and thats it. Its good soicalization for the dogs. Talk to you later.
