When you wake up in the morning hungover, does your country say "have a hair of the dog" (meaning have another alcoholic drink as soon as you wake up)? It is supposed to make your stomach feel better. Anyway, do you know where this saying came from? I have always been curious as to what it meant. Do you know any other DOG sayings? Like in Australia, some people say "it was a 3 dog night" which means that the night was 'really' cold. Apparently on cold nights, the Australian Aborigines would get 3 dingos and snuggle them for warmth, hence a "3 dog night". Any others?
Good question. What I found is that in ancient times they say "If a dog bites you, put a hair of the dog into the wound" it supposedly heals the wound. Yes we use this saying in the states. Unfortunately I have not found it to work for hangovers. LOL "Dog day afternoon" is another we use here.
Wendy, I will start and you have to try and finish if you cannot figure it out you will have to meet me in chat. It is really NOT appropriate in here. HONESTLY it isnt. Anyway it starts out like this.......Red on the head like............ Now you have to fill in the rest. LMAO
