Okay, I've been focusing soo much on the housetraining/paper training that I never thought about games. So when I took Adley out the other day and threw his squeaky toy and hollered "Go get it", I was astounded when he went and got it and brought it back to my feet. My dog knows fetch!!! And I didn't teach him!!! Anyone else have a dog that knows something that you never taught them?
Yep Adley, my Toby did the same thing. He just started fetching one day, same way. I wish he would learn to "COME" when I call him though. Little turd. He is a Maltese/Pom mix and is really challenging me lately.
My 8 wk old pup Olive did the same thing, she can fetch and i didn't teach her, also my dog Spook somehow learned to shake hands and I don't know how because I never taught her, I think she must of learned it from one of my other dogs or something, but not you can't go outside without her wanting to shake with you, she shakes with everyone she meets and has been doing this for years now with no sighn of letting up, she is about to shake us to death!!
Kind of. I had a balloon blown up laying around my house for a few days. I picked it up one day, batted it up in the air, and Cricket stood up on her hind legs hitting it with her nose like a trained seal. She kept doing that each time I hit the balloon totally leaving the floor. I had never seen her do anything like that.
now try that with a steak and see what happens lol. AIsha did it too but now she will tease us and come close and run away. She will drop it when she wants us to throw it to her. they are sooooo smart!
Wendy, so you forgot did you? After I put those pictures up and eveything. Cricket is a Yorkie, and up to that point her most talented feature was looking at me with one eye open when I pass her sleeping on the sofa. So this is big, and I do mean big.
Fancy has a favorite squeaker toy (purple elephant) that she absolutely loves and If I squeeze it a certain number of times and then give it back to her she will squeeze it the same number of times as I did....It's so odd almost like she can count..lol Dogs are so amazing.
That's right, that's right. Sorry. Put her link up so I can look at her again. She is not the little Yorkie with the heart problem is she? I remember talking with someone on here alot about their Yorkie with conjestive heart failure. I don't think it was you though. I love Yorkies. They are so cute.
Wendy, are you trying to ruin my day. Cricket is not the Yorkie with the heart problem, and I had not heard about it. I will be thinking about it now though. I don't remember the link, I will try to get it to you maybe by, let's say Sunday.
Cricket, Don't get upset. Maybe it is Adley's dog. It's not as bad as it sounds. I think the dog is older and they have to give her meds for it. It's not like she was having a heart attack. She had some other health issues too but was very much loved and pampered. Oh, I'm sorry, didn't mean to ruin your day. Why not til Sunday?
"If it's the good versus the bad, then why doesn't he know what "No" means..." actually because "No" is human language. have another dog say "no" in dog language and they will understand immediately. like you could teach a dog to "sit" saying "bumblebee" and they'd do it just as well.
