Ever since I joined here, I have immensely enjoyed reading about other breeds. I want one of each!! We are definately going to wait a few years and we definately adopt from the shelter again. I keep scanning our HS's website and can't help wanting to bring them all home. (That's how we got Bella...I was looking on the website and I knew she was ours as soon as I saw her online.) So if you are planning on adding an addition, do you have a breed in mind already?
I am already planning on more poms but the next breed that we would bring into our home would probably be a pit or american bulldog. We have done foster care for a Pit/Am staff mix and have never quite gotten over wishing we had kept him. There is a AB there now and I would LOVE to take him home but I can't. So my goal is just to find him a home.
i am going to stick with the great pyrenees and the anatolian shepherd. but when i am an old lady and i can't handle the large dogs anymore i am going to get a chi. i am hoping allie or chili will sell me one !!
I am hoping my next dog will be a brown poodle but if I dont get him, I want a Newfoundland. I wont be getting the Newfie until Duncan and/or Lilly are gone, so it will be quite a few years. The poodles is still available and I have 2 weeks left with Ruthie. **fingers crossed**
I have a soft spot for pit bulls when they go up for adoption. I just get worried they will go to a home with the wrong intentions. My HS got in a 4 month old white pit today (no pic yet though). Here is the link I am so addicted to..hehe http://www.lollypop.org/adoptableDogsLPF.htm
lollypop rescue......what a cute name. a long time ago a friend of mine tried getting a ridgeback out of a pound and it went to a lollypop rescue but this was in new jersey not in new york. what a coincidence.
Funny that this topic would come up. I think I will always have shelties - and would never part with my one and only yorkie - but I was thinking this morning that I would love to have a Scottish Terrier. And the "Breed All About It" on Animal Planet this morning was also a Scottie. Since I have more than enough right now - it will remain only a thought for the moment!! Anything at the humane society (not animal control) ...any breed any mix...I love dogs...although the black or chocolate english cocker spaniels are gorgeous..http://w1.311.telia.com/~u31109122/ I just want something that won't die on me in 7 weeks :( (tears for Mei Ling)
