Last night, I was broiling and set off the smoke alarm. Well, layla went goofy. We ignored her and told her to stop, but she shook all over for about an hour. Today, she is spasing out anytime ANYTHING beeps, the microwave, cell phone, etc. I'm ignoring her when she starts shaking, I hope this doesn't last.
Toby freaks out when my computer makes a certain beep sound. Also you know the Sunday Football sound on TV? It's sounds sort of like bells or beeps. It goes ba da bop ba da bop? Anyway, everytime he hears that he barks like a wild man. I think it sounds like the door bell. So all day Sunday we have to listen to him carrying on because my hubby is a football addict.
Gbat1stop: lol You should run a school! That is great. I never thought of doing that. Your husband tolerates this? Mine would of yanked the batteries out of every smoke detector in the house by now! lol
Get a tape recorder and tape the beeping sounds. While she is relxed and doing something pleasurable like eating or playing, play it near her on a very low volume. As she starts to get used to it, increase the volume. Keep doing that until it reaches regular volume and she is familiar with it.
LOL, gbat, I think it's great that you do that. It's funny but last night I was playing a game, collapse, and it makes a lot of noises. Lady got up and stuck her nose on the monitor, then she walked around and looked at every piece of the computer she could find. Even the printer. lol. It was so funny. She didn't bark, but she cocked her head and her little ears stood up. Finally she just went and laid back down.
