A cat in our neighborhood. who is an outside cat. allowed to roam throught the neighborhood freely was foud dead in my garage. moose my fila was a little scratched so, i am guessing he did it. he did not eat it. just killed it.so told the neighbor of the incident and told her i was sorry about her cat. now I have an irrate neighbor who has called animal control. i tried to explain that i in no way except reponseability for her cat. her cat was not in my yard but in my house. moose who is by far not an aggressive animal. well at least not to humans or his own species. will be looked at and i will be investgated by animal control. wish me luck
oh gunny. oh moose. what a horrible thing all the way around. i will wish you luck. do you at least live enough houses away from this woman or right next door ? make up a fictitious breed that moose is because once they find out what he is you may be in for a whole load of bs.
You're a good citizen, gunny. You could have easily tossed the cat in the trash, and nobody would have known what happened to it. The woman would be searching for a cat that won't be coming home. Obviously, you (and moose) aren't at fault; the cat was in your garage. I'm glad you have a lawyer to help you deal with the mess.
It's the nieghbors fault. I let my cats out,now if something does happen to them ,I know I let them out,but they like the freedom, there's no way to keep them in.The nieghbor should know if you let a cat loose things can happen.
Thats too bad. I know you must feel bad and you did what you thought was right by telling her. I bet now you wish you had shut your mouth but how were you to know? Chasing cats is in the dogs instict. Aisha was 6 weeks old when we got her and she still chases ours. It probably started off as a game and got a little out of control.
Yes, but I am sure that he would not have felt right about not telling. I know I would feel like crap if that happened with Aisha. How about asking her if you can replace it with another kitten? I know it would not really make it right but it's worth the effort. (shrug)
Aisha, sounds like the situation is past that point if she has called Animal Control. I think I would be offended if someone's dog killed my cat and offered to replace my cat. Probably if she talks to an attorney they will advise her to drop the case.
I know cricketmom, She is being a little hard on him, but I can also see her view on this too. Sorry Gunny :( She however is /was wrong to let the cat roam the neighbourhood. Cricketmom: I hope your right about a law suit. These things tend to get ugly, Gunny did the right thing to seek advise quickly. Let us know what happens
this just in..... my gf called me at work and it seems moose has been aquited. the lady called and apologized. her husband came home and looked at the cat and found.......multiple pellets in it from a pellet gun. some one shot it. and maybe moose brought from outside in or it came in the garage to die and moose found it and it clawed him. anyway moose is not a cold blooded killer
Yeah!!!!FOR MOOSE!!!!!!! Not going to be in front of the general for questioning lol! That is great news for you but bad for her. Better keep a close eye on that dog of yours there is some loser on the loose.
OMG, I was reading this and getting all upset. I am so glad to see the end. I'm sorry the cat was shot, but at least it wasn't moose. Now, like was already said be careful because obviously there's a nut job out there with a pellet gun. ( I think that's what you said, pellet gun?) At least the woman's husband looked and had enough guts to tell the truth. Has AC already been notified of what happened? I am so glad it worked out for you.
