I was planning on calling the vet tomorrow to make an appointment for Ariel to be spayed. She is 7 months old. I don't remember when dogs typically first go into heat, but as soon as I started thinking about getting her fixed I swear all the other dogs started coming up and sniffing her and she looks a little swolen. I saw that someone mentioned a silent heat the other day, but I dont' know what that is, and does it matter as far as being spayed? Thanks.
Gina, isn't she a little puppy? I do not think they all discharge. So she could be going through it, and if it being her first who knows? I am sure that some vets will still spay when in heat but I think it costs more.
Since all my other dogs are already spayed/neutered, I don't mind waiting. I am just curious about it. I guess I will call the vet and make an appointment and if she does go into a regular heat, I'll call and postpone it. If not, I'll take her in and see what he says. It just seemed funny, like they were all saying, "I know what you're thinking!!!!"
