Oh! ROFL! I am sorry but your right! What is he thinking? Cry, stomp your feet, give the silent treatment and tell him you refuse! What breed, sexes? Everyone come up with really cool stuff he can't resist? Catlover, do you have any names picked out?
LOL...catlover..I guess its the nature of the beast! Lugnut is the name of the Lowes Motor Speedway mascot, I think! I live here, and dont even know..shame... Try this website: http://www.petrix.com/dognames/ This may help! Keep us posted!
No, I don't have any names picked. It's hard for me to think of names without seeing the dog first. But it will definately be a sporting dog: brittany, viszla or retriever. Can you imagine walking down the street, yelling, "Lugnut! Dipstick!" They will put me in a home!!!
Yes, we would make a pair, wouldn't we Aisha? I think we will either get 2 girls or else one of each. I actually got a call over the weekend from the one viszla breeder I was talking to earlier this summer. I wasn't in, and didn't get to return her call yet. We were going to wait until spring for a pup, but depending on what she has to say, we may get one sooner! So I'm kind of excited, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I told my husband that this might not be a good time for a viszla pup anyway, because I don't think they do that well in cold weather, so we might have a problem housetraining. Now a lab wouldn't be a problem in winter!
well do not let the breeder know what your husband has picked out for names or she may refuse to sell. lol. Do you have kids? I would love to know what their names are. haha. I can only imagine what he would come up with. When I was expecting my first DH would actually make me cry with the names he wanted. He is so traditional it was scary! I finally made him see my point of view and we choose names that were somewhere in the middle between really italian and Canadian. Makes sense? I thought that I was going to leave him over that. How about Diesel, zeus, for boys Girls (shrug) don't have enough coffee in me yet.
Well I think they are cute names. And lets stop and think, for man to be so excited over his new pups that he takes the time to think of names! WOW Thats a big credit to your husband in my book. Can't wait to see pictures of your pups.
Sounds like he is just yanking your chain. Call the animal by 2 names if it is in interest of domestic peace. My pups answer to more than one name often. Some I think respond better to "cookie" and "no" than a name...
Crap. The thing keeps coming up server error. Looks like nothing took. Then it posts in triple? Thanks La Layla. All this time I thought the edit button was because I called someone a bad word and because none of the rest of you had one...I figured it must have been a dooozy. I am such a dope. I deleted the double posts.
No, we have no kids. Who knows what names he would have come up with!!! And he's not a mechanic. My sister has a dog named Penske, so I guess it sort of goes along with that! I don't know...we'll have to wait and see. I've been trying to call the viszla woman, and having no luck. Getting anxious! Meanwhile, we're not buying any supplies yet, figuring we will need different size things depending on which breed we end up getting. With all the planning we're doing, it will probably end up all being a rush anyway when we finally get one!
No, kittysmom, we definately won't get 2 at the same time! We are kind of thinking one in the spring, and then one maybe the following year. Or if we got one now, maybe get another in spring or summer. Believe me, I think I will have a hard enough time with one, much less two!
Good girl. I usually suggest to puppy buyers that they wait til the 1st is 2 and fully trained, out of the squirrely age, then the 2nd follows right along and self trains. Kinda depends on the dog. 2 tend not to listen to you when they are consulting each other. 3 is a circus...
