My friend Heather told me about these things called Tart Warmers and you can buy them at Yankee Candle Co. They're like little decorative pots and you buy different scented tarts at the store as well....you also need the little tea lights that heat up the tart above and the tart melts...and taa daa....your house smells so good for hours...it even smells good after you blow out the tea light....This is wonderful, because if you are housebreaking, like we are, then you may have a slight puppy pee odor in some carpets. Some of our carpets have to be spot cleaned and cant be machine washed, so we use resolve, but there is still a lingering odor sometimes... These tarts are wonderful, and smell so good...plus after youre through with them, you put the burner in the freezer for a few minutes and it pops out...I wrap these in some tissue paper and put them in drawers where it gets a little musty smelling...makes clothes smell great! Just thought Id let you guys know....some great flavors are Lemon Zest and the Chardonnay tarts....theyre so fragrant, yet not overwhelming!
Is this like a potpourri burner but you use the "wax tarts" instead? I have several of those that I use all the time. Shhhhhhh......Dont tell anyone but I have a candle/potpourri fetish. That explains the frequent fire drills.
Lol Gbat....me too...you name it I probably got it! And Bath and Body works...you cant pull me out of that store! It is sort of like a potpourri pot, its ceramic and almost all of them are decorated somehow, so you can find one for every room of your house! You use the same tea lights at the bottom, but the wax comes in a little round shape and you just put it at the top and light the candle, and the tart melts and the fragrance fills the house! Catlover, i know what you are talkin about, my dog loves to jump and hit things...so we put ours on the fireplace mantle, its that small! You can also put it on the TV, a side table, anywhere thats up and out of the way and thats flat!
They have loads of different brands of tarts out now, but Yankee is definitely the best...especially for pet odors. I've also found that even leaving a wrapped tart in one of the favorite potty spots works well to prevent future accidents.
I actually use the no go solution... the tart warmers have many different uses even when they are not warmed up...the smell is so good and it diverts your nose from any odors! It also adds a homey and comforting atmosphere to your home when lit.... It was just an idea I thought I'd bring up...
Went to Ebay and found this on the tarts....lol http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50406&item=4330190703&rd=1 Someone using their dog to warm hearts and get sales, I guess!! Was just funny that the reason I was looking for these was from a pet forum and then a pet was selling them!! lol
I use enzyme cleaner with my carpets so I don't really have a doggie odor. But my cat uses a litter box and THAT gets smelly. I use those tarts a lot, but I also use incense and at bath and body works, they have this air freshener that you plug into the wall (it looks like a flower) and there are different oil scents you can put in it. I swear that thing lasts a month. And you just have to buy the oil refills when it's gone. Another good thing if you are potty training, is after you clean the area with an enzyme cleaner, let it dry, and once it has put carpet powder on your carpet and vacuum. In the cleaning section, they have the kinds for pets and I have found that really helps too.
Puggle, We went yesterday, and they were 12 for 12.00 or if you dont want that many, i think theyre like 1.20 a piece. Huntersmom, I know what you mean! My parents have a cat and that litter box can get pretty ripe, even thought you clean it religiously! Thats why Im getting them one for Christmas..in fact all my family....even the inlaws are getting the tart warmers for Christmas! I have "lemon zest" in there now, and in the kitchen, i have "chardonnay", and in our bedroom i have "hot buttered rum" It smells so good in here!
I use the same thing at my house but its not yankee candle. We have a candle maker here called southwest candles and they have the best smelling candles around for the price. They are alot cheaper than yankee. But my favorite is the sugar cookie. It makes me hungry every time I burn it. I am also addicted to candles. I think I have a million sitting around the house.
