yes i have seen that video before, it was posted here a little bit ago. i watched it, and showed my family and some of my friends. i tried yesterday to show another one of my friends and couldn't find the post, so thanks for posting it again! it's definetly a video worth watching
okay to open up a can of worms with the pitbull lovers. that video said 1.98% of all bites are from pits. We recently got a message at work with the dog bite stats for fiscal year 2004 and it said pits were resposible for 70% of death from bites in the u.s. if both of those facts are indeed facts. that doesn't sound to good
Gunny, I think the reason that the pit bull bite statistics are so high (as are a lot of other larger breed dogs, like the GSD) is because of the damage that their bite causes. I would imagine that many more bites a year come from smaller breed dogs (like the chihuahua or cocker spaniel) but I bet many go unreported because the injuries caused by the bite were not very serious. I know my 13 yr old cousin got bit by my aunt's friend's chi when he was bending over putting on his shoes. He had to have stitches. No one is screaming "ban chihuahuas" though, because chis' do not cause much damage. But I think people are afriad of pit bulls because of the damage that they can cause *if* for some reason they did choose to turn on a person. I know I would not approach any large breed dog I did not know for this reason. I am not as cautious around small dogs because I am not as afraid of their bite.
