Well, our elderly neighbors 2 doors down, their Toy Poodle had a heart attack yesterday. She is doing much better today, but she is going to be staying at the vet for a day or two. So our neighbors gave us about a cup and a half of dry food (Prescription Diet for I think weight management. But I am still going to give Allie it, lol) and a bunch of Pedigree Little Champions Pouches. Here are the ingredients for them: With Beef, Noodles & Veggies Variety: SUFFICIENT WATER FOR PROCESSING, POULTRY, BEEF, MEAT BY-PRODUCTS, WHEAT GLUTEN, WHEAT FLOUR, LIVER, EGG NOODLES, STARCH, DRIED CARROTS, DRIED PEAS, DRIED TOMATO POMACE, SALT, CARAMEL COLORING, TRACE MINERALS (POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, ZINC SULFATE, COPPER SULFATE, POTASSIUM IODIDE), SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE, SODIUM ALGINATE, GUAR GUM, ONION POWDER, IRON OXIDE, NATURAL FLAVORS, VITAMINS (VITAMIN E, A & D3 SUPPLEMENTS, d-CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, THIAMINE MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], BIOTIN), GARLIC POWDER. (Sorry for the caps, cut & pasted it off the Pedigree site) Meaty Strips In Gravy Variety: SUFFICIENT WATER FOR PROCESSING, POULTRY, MEAT BY-PRODUCTS, BEEF, WHEAT FLOUR, LIVER, WHEAT GLUTEN, STARCH, DRIED TOMATO POMACE, CARAMEL COLORING, SALT, SODIUM TRIPOLYPHOSPHATE, TRACE MINERALS (POTASSIUM CHLORIDE, ZINC SULFATE, COPPER SULFATE, POTASSIUM IODIDE), SODIUM ALGINATE, GUAR GUM, IRON OXIDE, ONION POWDER, NATURAL FLAVORS, VITAMINS (VITAMIN E, A & D3 SUPPLEMENTS, d-CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, THIAMINE MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], BIOTIN), GARLIC POWDER. Should I be giving these to Allie? Also, the funny part of the story, they also gave us 4 of the Cesar wet dog food in the square containers. We feed Mönica the cat version of Cesar (Sheba), so we are going to beed her dog food for a little bit! She loves it, and it doesn't smell as bad :D Thanks for all your advice ahead of time! ---Allie the Chihuahua http://www.dogster.com/?41063 ---Mönica the Kitty http://www.catster.com/?57596
I feed little champions to my dogs sometimes. They seem to like it, but I don't feed it very often, just as a treat or a little bit with each meal. If I feed just it just straight every day, it gives my dogs really bad breath, and they seem to get tired of it! I always try to feed dry because it is so much better for their teeth and doesn't give them stinky breath, but they like a little bit of Little Champions are flavoring on occasions.
