bassetmom............First of all thank-you for the congradulations of my new puppies. I am assuming that you have Bassethounds. When I was at the vet yesterday a lady came in with a white a beige one. I had never seen one that color. I talked to her a little, and she said they are very popular. Have they been around the whole time, and I have just not seen one?
I have never seen one that color before and AKC does not even have that color on the list. Mine are 1tri color, 1 lemon, and 5 red &white. Wonder what colors are on the paper. Cant wait to see pics of your new babbies. I havent got mine posted yet but going to soon.
Thanks Bassetmom...................The lady told me it was a standard color. I didn't say anything because I did not know. I doubt anyone would want to see my puppies right now except me. I will be so glad when their eyes open and their noses turn black.
That is not a standard color its not even a alternative color. If they are reg. under AKC she must be putting brown or trying to pass it off as a light lemon color.People are so crazy. When my puppies were born my hubby said they look like ugly little rats now he doesnt want to get rid of them. My son told his siter he was going to use them for fish bait just to get her going.
I know, they are really strange looking when they are born. My husband teases me all the time because I do not like mice or rats, and newborn Maltese look an awful lot like white mice the first few days.
Just asking but do you do the puppy contracts and do you think they are a good thing. My sister done it with hers and she said she would not sell them with out one. I have one already mad out she says its a good one an to deff. do it.My son would want to use them as fish bait.lol (when my daughter was born my son and his pspsw said if she didnt have hair they weregoing to use her.LOL)
Bassetmom...............I have never a contract for any of my puppies, because I have given them to family members or friends. I told each and everyone one of them that I would re-claim the puppy if I ever saw any evidence that the puppy was not being cared for. I can see the purpose of a contract, and discussed it with an attorney friend. He said if it came right down to it, the contract would be just like a lot of others, almost impossible to enforce. I signed a contract once when I got a dog at the SPCA. No one ever called or came to check as the contract said, but I was aware that what my attorney friend said was true. The burden of proof would be very hard to do. As far taking a puppy back if someone just did not want it, I do not need a contract for that. If someone wanted a health guarantee on one of my puppies in writing, I would not have a problem with that either. Maltese have small litters, so there have not been a lot of puppies.
Ok Cricketmom.......I had to re read both posts! Tee hee hee! At first I thought you had purchased a couple of Bassett pups! LOL! I thought what in the world? Now I see your Maltese had babies yesterday! Silly me! LOL!
