Please use a dog shampoo that has been formulated for dog skin. It truly will make a difference. There are some very good brands available at prices just as reasonable as human shampoos. I have been grooming pets for almost 20 years now and have always strived to keep up with the best knowlege in my field and have worked closely with several vets and many special needs animals. There is a shampoo designed for most pet types, what kind of a dog do you have and is he/she experiencing any noticable skin problems? How frequently are you bathing?
Petguard makes a great shampoo, made with herbs, and it has penny royal in it to prevent fleas. It smells great, and makes Ella all soft. A dog shouldn't be bathed more then every 3-4 weeks because it can dry out the skin. Ella's mom
Giant Schnauzer, great breed choice! Select a good protein/texturizing shampoo for your girls coat. Cindra's texturizing shampoo is a very good choice and excellent value for the money. It would not be harmful to bathe your puppy on a regular basis with this type of shampoo. It is very nice for the harsh terrier coats and smells real "crisp" after the bath too. Have fun!!
Thanks Wench, i just want to do whats best for her. I dont care if i have to spend a few more bucks on a dog shampoo as long as its better for her. Some people have told me that regular shampoo is good enough, and i dont really have the experience being that this is my first dog. By the way is cindras a dog shampoo ?
Cindra is a company that manufacters a fairly complete line of pet shampoo and hair care product. http://www.dog-training.com/cindra.htm I found this site with a google search and their prices are comparable to ordering direct from the company too.
