The media has really been successful in brainwashing people into thinking every attack must be by a Pit Bull. Lastnite a family member told me to watch the news, I just had to. Because A Pit Bull killed a dozen endangered animals at a zoo. Okay so I flip to the news and A PACK (four) of WILD DOGS killed HALF a dozen endangered Gazelles. Now where did they get Pit Bull killing 12 animals out of that? I don't know. They just saw a short "preview clip" and assumed it must have been a Pit Bull. Just a pack of 4 wild mutts 2 of which were shot.
That's weird. That doesn't happen in my state (that I notice). They don't really focus on pit bulls. They focused on them a while back because this lady got killed by one, and then it went to attack the neighbor and got shot by the son. It was a pit bull. But they didn't say anything like "pit bull being are evil" or anything, actually they ran a lot of stories about how neglectful the owner was and about her being charged with animal abuse. There was a lot of neighbors of this women talking about how mean she was to the dogs and that it was no wonder the pits were mean. Whenever they run stories here about pit attacks, that's usually what they focus on, the owners.
They don't do that where I live either. A year or two ago, 3 feral dogs kept attacking the Auburn University Veterinary School's flock of sheep and llamas. I think they lost a few sheep to the dogs. The paper described them as being two lab mixes, they didn't know what the third dog was.
They dont do it so much here either, which I'm glad about. But it doesn't change the facts of what individuals think. They have reported Pit Bull attacks before, sometimes saying they were vicious and mastiff attacks. This time it was just a pack of wild dogs, they didn't even show any dogs or give any discription, except that they were dangerous and scaring neighbors. They've been having a going stray problem. Don't ask me whats up with my relatives?? Maybe they can't hear or dont try to listen, I was so mad.
everytime i hear a preview to the news about a dog attack i always watch to see what type of dog it is. there has been a decrease in newsworthy dog attacks in recent time though. which i suppose is a good thing irregardless of what breed it is.
Yes, and I am aware that the public does not know what a Pit Bull is! Me & my uncel were watching the news & there was this vet thing on, explaining that your dogs need to be vaccinated. There were a couple dogs walking around in the vet's office on TV, and my uncle asked if those were Pit Bulls.
