okay i spent the last 45 minutes reading over all 3 links above. what i am gathering is that kerry is against certain gun ownership which would inevitably prevent certain types of hunting ? not that he is neccesarily against the hunting? i'd be there til tomorrow eading thru that whole taxidermy website so i flicked around most of it. boy talk about disagreements. and who thought TP was bad LOL !!
Yeah there's lots of heated discussions on that forum my husband lives on that forum in his spare time and then gets off and debates with me..OH GOD I will be so glad when this election is OVER! My husband is a die hard republican and I am undecided I guess truly IM somewhere in the middle of a Democrat/Liberal. So you can only imagine the disagreements between us. http://www.opensecrets.org/presidential/index.asp
taxidermist do fish too. I hadn't heard about this, but I will tell you that I am VERY offended about Teresa Kerry's remark the other day that Laura Bush has never held a "real" job. She was a teacher and librarian here in Texas for over 10 years. I guess ketchup is more important to that snot than education. Just my opinion and a sore subject since I'm at the end of my teaching degree.
Teresa Kerry apologized for the remark after learning that Laura Bush had been a teacher. Apparently, Teresa Kerry had been under the impression that Laura Bush had done some volunteer work but hadn't actually worked for a living. The whole thing was a big mix up, but you'd think someone on the campaign trail would've thought to brief Teresa Kerry on Laura Bush's work history before now. I haven't heard anything about PETA backing Kerry (not that it can't be true just because I haven't heard it). I wouldn't think PETA would like Kerry much because Kerry grew up hunting and continues to hunt. He did, however, save that hamster. When Kerry's daughters introduced him at the Democratic Convention, one of them told a story about the family going on a boat trip of some sort. The girls had a hamster in a cage, and as they were prepared to board the boat, they accidentally knocked the cage in the water. Kerry (in regular clothes) dove into the water, retrieved the drowning hamster, and then gave it CPR. The hamster lived, but the daughter said the hamster was never "quite right" after his brush with death.
Teresa Kerry did apologize, but I agree with the spokesman that said the apology was almost worse than the orginial statement. These people aren't high school kids. She should have read up on Laura Bush, or had someone brief her before she said anything. That was actually a slam at stay at home moms everywhere. I live in Texas, too. However that is beside the point. It is a well know fact what all she has done in the children's reading programs. She is the first lady for heaven's sake.
