You don't have to give a small puppy a toy with anything in it, but if you do, it's usually a very small amount.
When you're crate training, you take the water and food out at night because a puppy has a small blad...

I work shift work, and if I need to be home I change shifts with my colleagues.
My son is also in partnership with me; so we work things out between us.
Showing can be difficult for me;so my son is my handler...

If I were you Tapettyjohn, I would crate her at night, and possibly put her in the basement, or garage, if it's warm.
At least you'll get some sleep.
Don't forget she'll keep coming around in heat, if you don...
