I believe that sometimes people buy AKC dogs that have limited registration. Thus they are not able to register any of the offspring with AKC. So they search out these different clubs to register their puppies.

There are 27 dogs and cats waiting for new homes at this rescue in Tennessee. Evidently it is a privately run, not-for-profit shelter and will be shutting its door in May 2005.
