My understanding is that a dog cannot catch a cold or the flu virus from a human. They do get what is known as "kennel cough" which is highly contagious among dogs.

Yes, please let us know how the your Frenchie is doing with his leg issue. He must be very sweet and I can imagine the 'toothless grin'. We live in Canada and with the warm weather gone we don't have to worry about nasty insect bites for a while.......
