simply because small dogs are in demand and people will pay it.
i would research this rescue and make sure they are legit.
my rescue chrages a flat fee by age. some charge based on the amount of medical carea dog needed. but $800...thats ...

we dotn have a petco nearby, only a petsmart adn local supply store. we spend most of our money at the local supply store; rarely do i patronize petsmart. too expensive and they dont sell our dog's food anyway.

anything that fits in there, goes in there, in our house. even pizza crust treats? in the kong.
i mix peanut butter & vanilla yougurt
i also discovered canned salmon the other day, smells horrid (i hate seafood) but they love it.

i have 2 eskies with really furry hineys. only when they are in tummy distress and have messy poo is it a problem. and even then i usually opt to rinse them off rather then trim their hair. my manle, i did sani-trim him because his hind is 10 times...
