I have started a fairly new product called Comfortis. It's amazing, I noticed a few fleas.. and within' 30 minutes they were falling off dead. As far as I know it kills all stages, as well. You might ask your vet about it.

Generally, it's better to stick to the same brand and flavor to keep the dog from getting upset stomach/vomiting/diarrhea. Although, once a month a can of wet food or something as a treat.. I can't see that would hurt.
