And as DAHSHEEPIES said ground flax seed or flax oil helps a lot. I know in Dr. Foster and Smith they sell a lot of products for shedding problems.

I have a yellow lab named Nala, she is 1. She does shed a lot but not that much. I use a shedding blade on her and a grooming rake.

It all depends on the carriers. A yellow lab can have a carrier for a chocolate lab. And I have seen litters that have both yellow and black labs in them.

It's not a new color, it is really something with the DNA. Not sure how to explaine it, thats why I posted the sites. And IMHO I don't think the color is ruining the breed, probally beause I haven't seen a Silver Lab in person.
