I also prefer the Natural Balance - I feed the Ultra and the fish and sweet potatoe formulas. You can get it at PetCo and they also ofer the buy 10 get 1 free.

I have Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and feed Natural Balance. The Fish and sweet potatoe is good for skin and coat as is the Ultra formula.

If I am not mistaken - heartguard works by killing the larva of the worms once given to the dog - not by acting as a deterant - therefore every month it is killing larvae and thus prevents an infestation. Could it be that you were close to your nex...
