We always get our dogs something for Christmas (and their birthdays too). Each has their own stocking which is placed under the tree along with the rest of the family's.

Not sure why you think going back to the vet isn't going to help. Definitely a return trip is in order if the prescribed meds are not working and the condition is not getting any better.
