I have a family of 5, and I would like a loving, friendly, caring bird. And it would be nice if I could hold and pet it. What bird is right for me?

My dog's nose is warm and dry. She just threw up because of eating dirt. Anyone have an answer to this question:

My dog is laying down with her ears back and her nose is warm and dry. Why is this?
