Yeah,she has gotten loose once and went under my moms bed as well. My mom was scared to death of snakes,but has somewhat taken to Lucy now. I still won't even touch her at all! I'll look at her and talk to her,but that's it for me,hehe!

What breed or mix of breeds were you trying to adopt from the humane society/shelter? The reason I ask,is sometimes they pick on certain breeds as "vicious" or possible "problem" dogs when it comes to having kids with an unknown...
