My sister's Great Dane had the same thing. I always just assumed they were veins. I don't think they ever asked about them, though. Maybe it's a trait of the breed...

Yes, this can be normal. When he goes to get neutered, if it hasn't dropped, they'll have to make two incisions instead of the one, which of course means more $$$. Give it time, hopefully it will come down.

My little one does this, lifts his leg so high it's almost at a perfect 90 degree angle. It's too funny when he does that. The only thing I do is try to keep the hair trimmed or dry off the belly when he comes in. I don't know what else you can do...
