My vet told me that dogs are susceptible to viruses and can get upper respiratory infections but they are different then what humans can get and they cannot catch a cold from a human.

You know what I am sick of ? I am pretty sick of seeing you post questions on this forum asking for help and then telling the people who answer you that they are wrong. That their answers couldn't possibly be what is the problem and you know it all...

Have any skin scrapings been done to rule out sarcoptic mange ? That would cause intense itching like you described. Also allergies to food. If you are not finding the answers with your regular DVM you may want to consult a dermatologist.

How about contacting the breeder you got him from ? She would know his bloodlines the best and may be able to help you find a good female from another bloodline that would complement his.
