it is a blood test that looks at DNA to see if the dog carries the gene that may cause PRA. At least that is the way I understood it. I'm not sure why its not more well known if it is accurate, or why you can still breed a dog if it is a carrier.

I just recently found out about this test and was wondering if most breeders do this test or not. It sounds somewhat experimental to me, but if the info it provides is accurate, then it may be well worth the money.

if more than 1 puppy, do you crate them separately? if so, do you crate them in the same room? and also, are the plastic more enclosed crates better than the open cages or does this matter? thanks.

seen the vet today. she was not real concerned. suggested some ointment, agreed with the supplements. skin is not red and raw. molly is still scratching some though. hopefully the ointment will help. thanks everyone for your help.

steroids is what the vet used on our other dog for hot spots. i am not worried what she looks like, but i am concerned about her scratching. what can i do for her to make her more comfortable? she is no longer nursing.
