I feel your pain...my dog started doing it while my husband was 1/2 way through with a deployment, but he was 2 years old when he started, still doing it. I have asked my vet about it and they and other sources told me that it maybe a dominance thin...

just keep telling the dog to get off the bed, i let mine sleep with me sometimes but they have a CAGE and their own ROOM to sleep in so that they aren't gettin into stuff. Its like leaving toddler unattended you just ask for trouble.

I have a male pit bull and his piss is strong too, they told me it was because he wasn't fixed. I thought he might have been dehydrated BUT my female (spayed) doesn't have that problem.
