Roxy I understand your situation. As a breeder I don't "stereotype" families. I think pups raised in apartment homes can be well excercised and cared for, for example. However, I am leery of placing a puppy in an apartment home if I ask the person "D...

I agree about not spending an arm and a leg for a mixed breed dog - largely because those breeders probably bought their breeding dogs for $250 and haven't done any testing, feed cheap food, give cheap vet care, put the bitch out in a whelping pen an...

I think $200 even from a shelter is reasonable - and much more reasonable than from a BYB or Puppymill because the pups have at least been thoroughly checked by a vet, properly wormed, and are well vaccinated. You don't get that guarantee from the pe...

Most areas of the country have at least one AKC or UKC (United Kennel Club) show in their area a year. This is a GREAT place to locate a good breeder - especially with a popular breed. I'm not saying every breeder who is active in conformation is a g...

I agree - most likely unrelated. I've had bitches get an upset digestive system towards the end of their season. If it's not liquid, you're probably fine. The yogurt should help some.

I agree that there are too many vets out there more concerned about making a couple extra bucks than about the animals. I just got neuter proof from someone I sold a puppy to and I about gagged when I saw the invoice was for $840 - for a neuter

I think the bigger concern with that many breedings is how far they were spread out... I'm picturing some premature pups in that litter and wondering what their OP's reaction is going to be to puppies born without hair on their feet and ears that can...
