do they need pedigree ONLY or registration papers as well?
because anyone can order any pedigree from AKC website and take it to them and register his dog with someones pedigree.....without any proof of ownership

well, guess what, spaniels are hunting dogs, they hunt and retrieve birds, why you did not do any research on the breed before you got him? No you cannot teach him not to go after birds, tah would be pretty much the same like to teach not to eat

I would recommend any of small/medium herding dogs, like shelties, they are really good with other breeds. Do not get any 60lb dog with your 5 lb dog

I think they are also concerned about aggression in intact dogs. A few years ago I wanted to adopt a cat... and because I had an intact dog (that was raised with another cat and absolutely loved cats) they turned me down....

I do not think that just because we have over 300 breeds, we could not create new breeds....Years ago someone could had said "we have 100 breeds so......" There are still breeds being reconstructed or created and waiting for approval by registries,...

I guess I would not be against any breeding if there were homes for ALL dogs and shelters would have waiting lists for rescue dogs, but still I would be against those who do not do health tests and produce sick dogs, as well as bad temperament dogs...
