I've used lots of different methods. For our dogs bribery with treats tends to get them too excited and jumpy for good nail clipping. The best way is of course to frequently touch and play with the dog's feet and keep telling them they are a good dog...

I may as well chime in with my favorite breed - Bluetick Coonhounds. They are bred to be sociable (must get along with other hounds and people not familiar to them), active, constantly alert to new scents and sounds, and LOUD so hunters can find them...

Have you looked into the shiba inu dogs? I've never had one but from what others have said they seem to be more "mature" and less clingy than other breeds.

Maybe they've changed the formula. We've used Frontline for years but about 2 months ago I spotted fleas on our dogs. I used Frontline which has never failed us in the past. For some reason it did not work this time. We are still battling fleas.
