I had a dog with a similiar bump, it turned out to be a tumor, which was removed. I suggest, anytime, your pet gets unusually growths, a trip to the vet is worth it. I am not a licensed vet and would not want to diagnois something from a picture.

Another suggestion is to try your local dog pound and Humane Societies. They will often get in small mixed breeds.

The newborns need the milk coming from their mom for at least the first 48 hours. It has all the antibodies in it.
