Its normal behaviour for a dog to guard his food from another dog trying to steal it. They wouldnt of survived if they didnt. I think scolding your dog and taking his food away can make your dog want to want to guard his food even more (and teach him...

There is a reason the dog whisperer tv show has all those disclaimers telling the veiwers to not try those methods at home. The OP needs a qualified trainer to come in and see what is going on.

You need more help than a message board can give you. My advice would be to contact a reputable trainer( you can search for an APDT in your area) Meanwhile, stop holding your dog down and stop dragging him to his crate.

I agree. My sister bought her first pup from a pet store because she didnt know any better. She found her next pup from a reputable breeder after educating herself about pet store puppies. On the other hand I have seen people that dont car...
