Salicylate is an aspirin derivative and has anti-inflammatory properties (NSAID), extended use can be toxic to dogs, especially if not given in the proper dosages, and are particularly contraindicated in dogs with liver and renal issues.

Pepto should not be given to dogs/cats, it contains salicylate which can cause or exacerbate renal problems. Poor little dog, there are things that could have been done to extend it's life if only the owners had thought to have a blood panel run! H...

You need to get this dog to the vet ASAP, the dog can dehydrate very quickly.

Sounds like a staph infection. Take your dog back to teh vet and have a skin scrape done to confirm; if so, the dog should be put on Simplief for at least 21 days.
