I'm so sorry for your loss. This is one reason why I am dead set against anyone buying a puppy off the internet. Not to say that there aren't responsible breeders that advertise on the net, but they still will not sell you a puppy without asking...

Lots of chew toys. When he/she starts chewing on something that you don't want, redirect with a yummy chew treat of his own. Mine all love pig tails, pig ears. lamb ears, bully sticks, etc. Please stay away from rawhides.

That's why I believe buying any animal off the internet is just a crap shoot. If you cannot go meet the breeder, see he/she's other dogs, how s/he interacts with her dogs, answer all your questions no matter what, etc., then you steer clear of the...
