just got back from the vet with Dakota and my roomates dog, Sadie. Both have been itching all the time and the allergen food study was 8 weeks into it so it was time for a follow up.

Dakota does the same thing but I have found a kennel pad at the local pet store and he has surprisingly leaves that alone. Maybe because there isn't really room for him to flip it over as it lines the entire kennel.

I will keep you all posted... trying to get into the vet here in the next couple days. I want to have the skin scrape done if possible.
I am convinced for the most part that it is not food related but what do I know.

I was feeding him Purina Pro Plan before and now its the Ultra Allergen Free food only.

A skin test is something I have heard mention of - is this something the dermatologist would do or the vet? Or either?

no, my vet said that he best steps he saw fit based on the signs (that led him to believe it was food related) were to cut off all food and treats and start him on the allergen free diet. I thought it was extremene but also took Dakota to another vet...
