My brother-in-law once had a female dog when he was young. His mom told him he couldn't take her out to walk because she was in heat. To which Matt replied, "That's okay, Mom....I'll walk her in the shade!"

My dog (whatever dog I've had at the time, as they do change over time) is always out for company. If there are a LOT of people - say Thanksgiving dinner - then the dog is outside most of the time - like when we eat. Otherwise, he's inside.
