Okay, is it possible perhaps that he pulled a little too hard on the rope and tugged a tooth a bit loose? He's definitely older than 2-4 months.

welcome....I have never had a bulldog, but I think they're great. My parent's neighbors have one named Chopper. He's adorable.

About what age do they do that? We were playing tug-of-war with his rope and I noticed blood on it. I knew it wasn't my blood, so I checked his mouth out. It looked like he had a back tooth that was kinda crooked. Half in his gum, half out.

I'm with Windy Valley on Wal*Mart, though I've never tried Target. Also, I like PetSmart. Wal*Mart is definitely a bit cheaper, but PetSmart has a larger selection of supplies as they ARE a pet store.
