My 10 month old shih tzu has been house (potty) trained for a few months, but yesterday he had a pee accident in the house and today he pooped in my son's room.

Thanks to all for your replies. I posted my question a few days ago, and since then, things have gotten better. They still play rough, but I have observed them do exactly what you said...when one yelps, the other backs off.

We just added an 9 week old female lab/pit puppy to our family.
She gets along well with our 7 month old male shih-tzu (neutered).
They play together often, but sometimes the play can get pretty rough and one of them will yelp like they got...

What my dog's trainer recommends is - when he/she jumps on you, turn your back on him. Keep doing it without saying anything, just turn around and ignore the dog. When he stops trying to jump on you, give him a treat and praise. Practice with him ...
