Peanuts are very bad for dogs. You should tell your father in law not to feed those to your dog. Watch closely, because peanuts actually can kill your dog.

Another way I use on my own dogs when they pull, is I put a harness on them and attach a leash to the ring in the front. Then when the dog pulls it gets spun around and is unable to pull.
